Sarah Maxwell, MS, DVM, DACVO
OphthalmologyDr. Sarah Maxwell is board certified in veterinary ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology. Her clinical interests include hereditary eye diseases and corneal diseases of dogs and cats.
Dr. Maxwell is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California-Davis, receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986. Following an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University, Dr. Maxwell completed a residency in veterinary ophthalmology and a Master of Science degree at Kansas State University in 1991. She has been practicing veterinary ophthalmology in Oregon since 1991.
Dr. Maxwell has lectured throughout the region on eye diseases in small animals. She has provided ophthalmology services to Oregon State University’s teaching hospital, caring for horses, llamas and other large animals with eye diseases.
In addition to her practice at OVRA, Dr. Maxwell also practices in Corvallis.
Dr. Maxwell entered the veterinary field more than two decades ago because of her love of animals. She enjoys working with patients and the variety each day brings at OVRA. She has two dogs, Portia and Lexi, one cat, Mysty and 16 chickens.
