Tomie Timon, RDMS

Certifed Ultrasound Technician

Tomie attended State University of New York Upstate. While there, she saw one of the first ultrasound scanners in the United States. She was amazed by the technology and decided to pursue a career in ultrasound. She was later accepted to Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in Philadelphia where she completed her ultrasound training.

Her love for animals led her to volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation facility in South Lake Tahoe. This was a turning point in her career and she knew then that she wanted to use her skills as a sonographer to provide the same service for animals. Tomie has worked for over 32 years as a sonographer and has ten years of experience in the veterinary field.

As a sonographer at OVRA, Tomie performs ultrasound examinations including abdominal, heart (echocardiograms) and chest (thoracic). She enjoys helping pets and enabling doctors to provide quality care while using ultrasound to increase diagnostic accuracy.

At home Tomie has a tuxedo cat name LK. LK originally meant "Little Kitty", but he hasn't lived up to that name.
