Referral Policy
In accordance with OVRA’s mission, and for maximum benefit to your pet, referral from your family veterinarian is required. Consultations are available by appointment only.
Process
1. Schedule an Appointment
Following referral from your family veterinarian, please call our office to make an appointment. Our client service representatives are available Monday through Friday to assist you with the appointment process. Please request a copy of your pet’s medical record, including lab reports and radiographs (x-ray pictures) for your scheduled appointment at OVRA. Your family veterinarian may mail, fax or send these materials with you.
2. Your First Visit
Please plan to arrive with your pet 15 minutes early to allow time to process your pet’s medical chart information. The specialist team members will review this information and perform a physical exam on your pet. You can expect this appointment to last from 30 minutes to one hour as you meet with the doctor to discuss your pet’s condition.
3. Decide on a Treatment Plan
We recognize that you and your pet are unique. OVRA’s veterinary specialist will recommend the best available treatment options to ensure you have the information needed to make an informed decision about your pet’s health care. Itemized cost information for each treatment option will also be provided.
4. Payment Options
As is the standard of our profession, payment is due upon receipt of services. A deposit payment of one-half of the treatment plan cost is required prior to hospitalization. The remaining balance is due in full at the time your pet is discharged from OVRA. Payment options include cash, personal check, most major credit cards and CareCredit financing.
